458th programme of
the Global Nature Foundation (GNF)
Today, on June 5, 2020, GNF
celebrated our "World Environmental Day-June 5th, 2020", which was
organised by the Department of Botany, Heber Au Sable Institute, NCC Air wing,
and Nature Club of Bishop Heber College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli in
association with Green Stewards, CSI Trichy-Tanjore Diocese. The seed dispersal
programme was initiated by Dr. D. Paul Dhayabaran, Principal, Bishop Heber
College, Tiruchirappalli. Dr. V. Anand Gideon, Head, Dept. of Botany; Dr. A.
Relton, Director, Heber Au Sable Institute; Rev. Manimaran and Rev. Iniyan
Joshuva. Dr.
Naveen Krishnan, the President of GNF, Dr. R.
Carlton, Dr. A. Pauldasan, Coordinators of Nature Club, Dr. Immanuel NCC Airwing
officer and other faculty members of the Botany Department participated in the
seed dispersal program. Nearly 2000 seed balls were dispersed on the bank of
the Uyyakondan canal to increase green cover.
